LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial Friday dismissed, being withdrawn, a petition seeking directions for removal of law officers appointed by interim Punjab government.
The chief justice was hearing the petition filed by Muhammad Rafique Malik.
The petitioner through his petition submitted that the interim Punjab government appointed 13 assistant advocates generals without any lawful authority. Referring to a Supreme Court verdict, he contended that the step was illegal and against constitution.
He pleaded the court to issue directions for removal of the said law officers.
