ISLAMABAD: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Peshawar has established flood warning cell after floods and diluvial were observed in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).
A private news channel reported that the Flood cell would issue the warring to alert the people before flood to facilitate the affected people.
The cell has already vacated the school building for emergency and alert the all flood related departments such as hospitals and paramilitary forces.
Swat and Kabul rivers observed diluvial and Land route between Mangora with Bahrain was disconnected.
A well marked rain bearing weather system is likely to produce moderate to heavy rains at places during next 48 hours over Kohat, Bannu, Peshawar, Mardan and Hazara Divisions resulting in flash flooding of medium to high intensity in the Kabul, Kurram, Gambela and Swat rivers and their tributaries.
The heavy rains started from Wednesday evening at about 5:00 Pm and remained till Thursday resulting in overflowing the drains as water entered several homes of the district badly damaging the area of Sheikabad, Hussanabad of peshawar and Bala, Pir Pay and Nowshera Kalan.
According to earlier reports,the thunder storm was more intense in Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Charsadda, Malakand, Swat, Dir, Abbottabad and other parts of the province where at least two were killed and over 50 others sustained injures when the walls and roofs of houses collapsed and the trees were uprooted.
Electricity supply disrupted in many areas of Peshawar when the dust storm followed by heavy rain hit parts of the province.
High level floods have been recorded in the Kabul river at Worsak and Nowshera areas and high alert has been called for the people lived on the river banks.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department different areas of KPK would observe the rain in next coming days.
