ISLAMABAD: Director MET Dr. Khalid Malik has said that a light rain spell is expected on July 7 in upper areas of Punjab while current heat wave in the country is going to be continued for 2-4 days.
Talking to Pakistan Television News, Director MET said that although this rain spell would not decrease the temperature but another rain spell expected on July 10 will lessen the heat in KPK, Kashmir, Upper Areas of the country while this will also affect the Southern belt of Punjab.
He said coming spell is going to sustain for short period of time while spell after that is going to sustain for longer which is expected around 14-15 of July.
To a question he said that 1st ashra of Ramdan will be restful as another spell, though light in nature, is going to start from 14 July.
He said that these rains are very useful for cotton corps, this rain water should be preserved for the corps.
He said that by the end of 1st ashra of Ramadan temperature will rise across the Punjab and Upper Parts of the country making Ramdan a bit difficult.
To a question about weather of twin Cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi he said that the temperature will increase in these cities during next week with light rain in the division.
To a question he said that monsoon rains that are expected in sindh are going to affect the Hyderabad city aswell.
