KARACHI: At least three persons were killed and four others including a woman injured in fresh spate of target killing in different localities of the metropolis on Monday.
According to police, unknown armed men gunned down two persons near Old City area and fled the scene.
Senior MLO Civil Hospital Dr Aftab Channar said that two bodies were shifted to hospital where one of the deceased was identified as Muhammad Shahid while identity of the other was yet to be confirmed.
In Buffer Zone armed assailants opened fire killing a man on the spot and leaving other critically injured.
A man identified as Farhat was injured in firing incident in Bartan Gali area of Kharadar.
Two including a woman were injured in separate firing incidents in Frontier Colony and Kimari-Masan Road.
Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies (LEAs) arrested eight criminals including two target killers identified as Asif Niazi and Hamid, during raids at Maripur Road, Mubeena Town and other areas of the city. Arms including Kalashnikovs, pistols, hand grenades, drugs and other snatch or stolen valuables were recovered from the possession of detained culprits.
