imageKARACHI: Former Test paceman Sarfraz Nawaz said on Monday that young guns should have been inducted in the 2-Test match series against Zimbabwe starting in Harare on Tuesday.

However at the same time, he expressed his surprise and serious concern that highly talented batsmen Umar Amin, Sohaib Maqsood and Harris Sohail are not the part of Pakistan squad.

He said these three youngsters are future of Pakistan cricket and a great injustice is being done with their talent.

"The trio have performed creditably during the last domestic season. Umar Amin cracked his career best 281 but was still not considered for Test matches," he questioned.

Sarfraz Nawaz hoped that from Test squad, recalled opener Khurram Manzoor and Asad Shafiq will be treated well and will be allowed full run in the series.

He said series against weak Zimbabwe will benefit old guards like Younis Khan, Muhammad Hafeez. That will also give them new lease of life. "What we are achieving by including Faisal Iqbal," he said.

Sarfraz alleged that skipper Misbah-ul-Haq and Muhammad Hafeez are not allowing youngsters in the team to keep their place secure.

"Okay Misbah is doing well. But What Hafeez had achieved against top teams," he added.

Comparing the two teams, he said, Pakistan should dominate the Test series against host Zimbabwe.

He said if proper steps are not taken and fairplay in selection was not done, Pakistan cricket will be heading nowhere.

Sarfraz said Pakistan must focus in preparing good teams for next year's ICC World T20 held in Bangladesh and for the 2015 World Cup jointly staged by Australia and New Zealand in 2015.
