ISLAMABAD: Acting President of Awami National Party, Senator Haji Adeel has asserted that Pakistan is not the epicentre of terrorism but terrorists centres are in Pakistan. He lauded demand made by the Prime Minister at the United Nations for an end to drone attacks in Pakistan and said people should wait for its positive or negative impact.
In an interview with INP here on Saturday, Senator Haji Adeel said he wanted the Prime Minister to remain firm in his desire for dialogue with the Taliban and asked the government to implement the APC resolution by giving a ceasefire date to Taliban.
He said some of the points touched by the Prime Minister were appreciable including demand from the Taliban to lay down their arms and no dialogue with Taliban till they accept Constitution as well as the wit of the state. Similarly it was a good omen that the Prime Minister talked of dialogue with India and ANP hopes that the two countries would pick the thread once again from 1999.
Senator Haji Adeel said that by raising the issue of Drone Attack, the prime minister has implemented the APC decision.
In reply to a question, the ANP Parliamentary leader rejected Indian PM’s statement that Pakistan is epicentre of terrorism because, he said, there was no state sponsored terrorism. However he said there are private centres of terrorists in different areas including Karachi, Southern Punjab and Waziristan.
He regretted that despite APC resolution for dialogue with the Taliban, suicide attacks are taking place, claiming lives of innocent people. He demanded of the government to implement the APC resolution by giving a ceasefire date to Taliban and in case of no progress, present a future course of action.
