BUENOS AIRES: Argentina's closing soy prices and trends on Friday:
* In the Rosario grains market, soy closed at 2,030 pesos ($345) per tonne, compared with 2,050 to 2,100 pesos on Thursday. Local soy prices were pressured by declines in the benchmark Chicago futures, traders said.
* Chicago Board of Trade soybean futures closed lower on Friday on seasonal harvest pressure and on profit-taking, traders said.
* Rosario soy for delivery in May 2014, which is quoted in US dollars, closed at between $290 and $298 per tonne, from $293 per tonne on Thursday.
* In the Argentine port of Necochea soy closed at 1,890 pesos per tonne. In Bahia Blanca the oilseed ended at 1,920 pesos per tonne.
* Rains that fell on much of Argentina's farm belt last week helped wheat and boosted the planting of the 2013/14 corn crop, following a dry winter, the agriculture ministry said earlier on Friday.
