MULTAN: Police claimed on Saturday to have arrested 53 criminals including 7 proclaimed offenders in a crackdown against anti-social elements in the city.
According to police, raids were conducted at various parts of the city and arrested seven proclaimed offenders including Amanat Ali, Yasin, Bashir Ahmed, Nazir Ahmed, Javed, Muhammad Ejaz and Muhammad Sajjad wanted by police in heinous crimes.
During the crackdown, police arrested six drug pushers and seven illegal weapons carriers while recovered 22 litre of liquor, 245 gram Hashish, a revolver, a repeater, a pump action, four pistols and bullets from their possession.
As many as 26 gamblers were also apprehended from various places and recovered stake money Rs 24,390 from them, said police.
Police have also arrested six motorcyclists for doing wheelie while a kite seller was also arrested with 300 kites.
Separate cases have been registered against the accused.
