RYK-IndustryLAHORE: PIEDMC announced the soft launch of the Rahim Yar Khan Industrial Estates at a function held in Lahore.

The Chairman PIEDMC S.M. Tanveer in his address stated that PIEDMC is now the premium Industrial Estates Development Company of the country.

Its flagship project Sundar Industrial Estate in Lahore has been revitalized and now boasts world-class infrastructure and hosts a number of international companies.

Over 1000 large and medium sized industrial units employing over 250,000 workers operate under the PIEDMC umbrella all over Punjab.

The chairman promised the launch of new industrial estates and industry friendly policies to manage the industrial estates. He also welcomed international investors to set up outfits in Punjab.

Haji Abdul Malik Qasim, State Minister for Halal Hub and Products, Malaysia expressed his delight and willingness to collaborate in the field of promoting Halal Products Export from Pakistan.

Prominent Chambers, industrial Associations and Businessmen from all over Punjab were present at this occasion.

Representatives from Chambers of Lahore, Multan, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Okara, Sheikupura, Jhang, Rahim Yar Khan, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Jhelum, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan, Gujrat, Gujranwala and Industrial Associations including APTMA, PAAPAM and PPMA also spoke on the occasion.

Businessmen, while welcoming the initiative of an industrial estate in southern Punjab demanded the formation of a business forum which could represent the Punjab business community and provide a platform to play an active role in recommending formulation of business friendly policies.

The guest of honour Haroon Khawaja, Chairman, Chief Minister's Special Initiatives Entity, appreciated the concept of setting up the Punjab Business Forum and stated that it can play an active role in accelerating the industrial and trade related activities in future as the province of Punjab was contributing well over 60 percent of the country's GDP with the volume translating into $657 billion.

At the moment, more than 48,000 small and big industrial units are operating in Punjab.

He urged upon the businessmen and investors to take advantage of the facilities provided by the Punjab government in the fields of livestock, coal, engineering, etc.

He also hoped that this forum and the economic team of the chief minister of Punjab would work together to expedite programs for betterment of the people of Punjab focused towards creation of employment and elimination of poverty.

The ceremony ended with the signing of an MOU with Rahim Yar Khan Chamber of Commerce for the Rahim Yar Khan Industrial Estate.
