PESHAWAR: The Meteorological Department here Tuesday forecast light rain and snowfall at few places of Malakand division and Gilgit Baltistan during next 24 hours whereas cold and dry weather would likely to prevail in most parts of the country.
According to Met Office here, a westerly wave is prevailing over northern parts of the country that is likely to persist during next 24 to 36 hours.
As result, the weather is expected to remain cold and dry in most parts of the country, however, light rain and snowfall is forecast at few places of Gilgit-Baltistan, Hazara and Malakand divisions during next 48 hours.
The expected light snowfall and rain over the hills of Nathia Gali, Ayubi and Dongali in Abbotabad besides Kalam and Malam Jabba valleys in Swat would increase cold in upper areas of the province and chill in air would be increased especially during nights.
No rain has been reported from any parts of the country as weather remained cold and dry in last 24 hours. The minimum temperature was recorded at Skardu -7 C, Astore, Kalat -4 C, Kalam -3 C, Hunza -2 C, Gilgit, Rawalakot, Quetta -1 C whereas pollen count today remained as 34 per m3 of air.
