KARACHI: A sum of Rs3 billion would be spent on a project for the betterment of youth.
This was stated by Commissioner Karachi, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, during the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the city administration and the Karachi Youth Initiative (KYI).
He pointed out that the government is committed to fostering healthy activities among youth and provision of employment opportunities to them.
The Commissioner said that on a project for the betterment of youth and their welfare a sum of Rs3 billion would be spent for provision of financial assistance, technical education, sports activities etc.
It was informed on the occasion that the KYI has to- date provided financial, technical, educational and other facilities to some 300,000 youth in the city.
Under the KYI more than 80 programmes have also been completed, it was further stated.
Now the KYI is desirous of working in collaboration with the government for the betterment of the youth of Karachi.
