LAHORE: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar presided over a meeting to review arrangements of the 970th Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Baksh to be started on December 22.
The meeting was attended by provincial ministers, members of the national and provincial assemblies besides senior officials of the local administration and the Punjab government.
Punjab Secretary Auqaf Dr Saqib briefed the meeting about arrangements made by the provincial government to celebrate the Urs in a befitting manner and provide pilgrims to all necessary facilities.
The meeting was informed that Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar had donated two state-of-the-art water filtration plants with a capacity of 250,000 litres each to cater needs of pilgrims.
The meeting also finalized the programme during the Urs from December 22 to December 24 which would include separate sessions of Mehfil-e-Sama, Mehfil-e-Naat and Mehfil-e-Qiraat.
The minister urged the administration to provide all possible facilities to pilgrims and make foolproof security arrangements.
