Shipping activity at Port Qasim
KARACHI: Two ships C.V Maersk Georgia and M.T Al-Soor-II carrying containers and diesel oil were berthed at Port Qasim International Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Sunday, May 22.
Berth occupancy was managed at 39 percent at the Port on Sunday where a total of five ships namely C.V Liberty Spirit, C.V Maersk Georgia, M.V Al-Aska, M.V Sapphire-II and M.T Al-Soor-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, rice, cement and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 73,668 tonnes, comprising 57,829 tonnes imports and 15,839 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,136 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Container ship Maersk Georgia sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another oil tanker Al-Soor-II is expected to sail same day afternoon.
Three ships C.V MSC Magali, M.T Iron Monger-S and M.T Argent Freesia carrying containers, furnace oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, FOTCO and EVTL respectively on Monday, May 23.
Container ship Angles and Edible oil vessel Mal Pensa are due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, while six Ships more ships C.V UASC Damam, C.V Nedlloyed Mercator, C.V Natalia, M.T Gulf Coral, M.V Bussara Nar and M.T Ginga Caracal are due to arrive on Tuesday, May 24.
