LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that a university and a cadet college will be set up in Rahim Yar Khan, and work on university will soon be started.
He was addressing prize distribution ceremony at the conclusion of the second Nishan-e-Haider Kabbadi Tournament arranged by Pakistan Army at Sadiqabad Jinnah Municipal Stadium.
Corps Commander Karachi Lt. General Sajjad Ghani, Provincial Minister for Industries Ch. Muhammad Shafiq and senior military and civil officers were also present.
He said that project of the establishment of the cadet college would be completed in one and a half years. He said that people of South Punjab and Rahim Yar Khan expressed full confidence in Pakistan Muslim League-N leadership in general elections and it would come upto their expectations.
The final match of the tournament was played between Pakistan Army and Pak Air Force which was won by the latter.
Addressing the function, Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif commended the organizers on the arrangements of a splendid tournament of Kabbadi and said the Punjab government would extend all out cooperation for the promotion of Kabbadi.
He assured that solid and practicable proposals in this regard would be considered. He said that Kabbadi was being appreciated at the world level due to excellent sportsmanship displayed in the game.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the players of the two teams showed excellent performance in the final match for which they deserve credit. He also gave away prizes to the players of the winning team.
Earlier, on his arrival at the stadium, the Chief Minister was introduced to the players of the two teams.
During the interval, regional folkdance and camel dance were presented while army band played melodious tunes.
