SAO PAULO: French automaker PSA Peugeot-Citroen recalled 130,930 vehicles from both of its brands in Brazil due to the possible risk of fire, the company told AFP Thursday.
A Citroen engineer said that a noise-protection cover placed under the hood in various vehicles risked coming loose and falling on the engine at high temperatures.
A total of 88,792 Citroen C4 Pallas, C4 Hatch and C4 VTR models fall under the warning.
In addition, 42,138 Peugeot 307 Hatch, Sedan, CC and SW models are also being recalled.
All of the vehicles were made between 2002 and 2012.
Owners can have the part secured or replaced free of charge at Brazilian car dealerships.
