PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakthunkhwa Information Minister, Mian Iftikhar Hussain said Saturday those nations whose culture, art and values become part of history, government of Khyber Pakthunkhwa is endeavouring to encourage artisans to safeguard and preserve their future.
Talking to artisans and participants at a function during his visit to national folk festival at Islamabad, Information Minister said such programmes can play a vital role in promoting inter-provincial harmony creating an atmosphere of love, brotherhood, peace and harmony in the society.
He visited stalls of Gilgit Baltistan, AJK and other provinces as well as appreciated the work.
The KPK Government spokesman said soft loans scheme is being launched in the budget for promoting of hereditary artists to stand on their feet.
To promote arts and heritage in KPK, he said, an agreement has been inked with Bacha Khan Educational Trust, adding promoting culture has toped the agenda list of Khyber Pakthunkhwa Government.
When ANP led government was came into being KPK Government spokesman said that a separate Culture Department has been setup to promote art and culture and interact with other provinces.
An auditorium and display centres were also setup up to promote hereditary artisans besides encouraging them to exhibits their products and talent abroad.
Earlier, culture show was held where artists of KPK performed and received applause.
