rehman-malikISLAMABAD: Interior Minister, Rehman Malik Sunday visited blast area of Malpur near Bahara Kahu and directed DIG operation to submit initial report within two days.

The minister visited the areas without security and derived the vehicle himself. Talking to mediamen, he said security of Islamabad is very tight and appreciated the performance of police and security agencies.

He urged the nation to stand united against terrorism. The minister disclosed that explosive material was not old rather it was recently planted.He said terrorists wanted to carry out terrorist activities at any other place of Bahara Kahu but due to tight security at police checkpost they threw the explosive material before reaching the post.

He said order has been given to search the whole area, adding that decision is also under consideration to ban pillion riding in the capital, he added.

Rehman Malik said that directives have been issued to beef-up security at entrance and exit points of the capital.

He said all available resources would be utilized to protect the life and property of the citizen.He paid tribute to people of KPK for exhibiting unity in difficult time and supporting law enforcement agencies.

The Minister urged political leadership to shun difference and show unity against terrorism.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rehman Malik also met here with Pakistan High Commissioner in India, Shahid Malik.During the meeting latest situation of judicial commission was discussed.
