imageROTTERDAM: Asking prices for most products on the European vegetable oils market moved in a tight range on Thursday with participation in a trade dinner in Rotterdam capping activity.

"It was a lacklustre day with few buyers and sellers around and no news around that could set the market on fire," one broker said.

At 1730 GMT CBOT soyoil futures were between 0.03 cents per lb up and 0.14 cents down, mostly following CBOT soybeans and supported by stronger mineral oil values.

Liquid oils - EU soyoil, rapeoil and sunoil - were offered between flat and 10 euros per tonne down from Wednesday, mainly following CBOT soyoil futures. Asking prices were barely tested and no deals were reported.

Palm oil was offered between flat and $7.50 a tonne up from Wednesday after Malaysian palm oil futures closed between four ringgit per tonne up and four ringgit down as expectations of only a marginal increase in April 1-25 Malaysian palm oil exports, due on Friday, capped prices.

Lauric oils were offered between $10 a tonne up and $10 down from Wednesday with slack demand and little intention from buyers and sellers to make a market. No trades were reported. EUROPEAN VEG OILS TRADES
