HYDERABAD: Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Sharjeel Inam Memon has alleged that Chief of Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has been engaged in implementing a special agenda to derail the democracy in the country.
The minister expressed these remarks while talking to media persons here on Sunday.
The minister said that after passage of one year of the general elections, the PTI Chief started leveling allegation of rigging in the elections.
Though PPP candidates lost their seats in the general elections in Punjab, however the party leadership decided to continue the process of democracy by disallowing the elements who always tried wrap it up from the country.
The PPP always against all such processions, demonstrations and sit-in which could harm the democracy, the minister said and added that Imran Khan wanted to play 20/20 match by propagating rigging in the general elections after passage of one year.
Imran Khan and his party cannot come into power with the support of vote of the masses, however, he could success only with the support of hidden hands, he said and added that during Musharraf regime, Imran Khan had succeeded only on one seat of national assembly and now at present, he is moving the party towards the same direction where it could win a seat hardly.
About Allama Tahir-ul-Qadri, the minister claimed that he always came in the country with special agenda and even at present, he has been engaged in destabilizing the democratic system.
The government of the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif should complete its constitutional period so that the democracy could further be strengthened in the country and the people should make accountability through votes in the next general elections, he added.
