imageISLAMABAD: Former President Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday filed two petitions in the Special Court, hearing treason trial under Article 6 against him, and termed the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) investigation report incomplete.

Musharraf's lawyer Dr. Farogh Nasim submitted petitions, a day before the special court begins recording testimony in the Pervez Musharraf treason trial, and said that the documents provided to them were insufficient as the list of witnesses in the case were incomplete and notifications issued from the presidency were also missing.

Nasim stressed that these documents were necessary for him to build a strong argument for his client and that the prosecution was deliberating withholding the papers.

Musharraf's counsel prayed that minutes of the 44th session of the National Assembly dated November 7, 2007, wherein the House had unanimously endorsed the Proclamation of Emergency and Provisional Constitutional Order of November 3, 2007 and also list of all MNAs who attended the 44th NA session should be produced before the court.

He also sought list of the then government's cabinet members including advisors and Attorney General and the names of the governors, chief ministers, chief secretaries, home secretaries, inspector generals of police, members of the provincial assemblies of all the four provinces from November 3, 2007 to December 15, 2007 alongwith their present addresses.

The defence counsel also sought copies of notifications presumably (dated November 27, 2007 or November 28, 2007) whereby General Pervez Musharraf stepped down as the Army Chief and in his place General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani stepped in as the new Chief of the Army Staff.

Notification of December 15, 2007 termed "Revocation of Proclamation of Emergency Order, 2007", whereby the Emergency of November 3, 2007 was lifted.

He also sought copy of the summary of the then prime minister upon which the president had affixed his signatures before imposing the emergency.

The counsel also sought list of all the service chiefs and corps commanders as on November 3, 2007 and their present addresses.

He also sought copies of the entire record from the President House, Islamabad, President's Camp Office at Rawalpindi adjacent to the Army House, and the Army House pertaining to all those who entered into and exited from the said President House, President's Camp Office at Rawalpindi adjacent to Army House, and the Army House from July 1, 2007 to November 3, 2007, alongwith copies of programmes of the President between the afore-stated dates.

After the special court accepted Musharraf's plea for access to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) probe report and other relevant papers, the interior ministry handed over the documents to the former president's legal team on May 14.

Musharraf was formally charged on March 31, for subverting and circumventing the Constitution by imposing emergency on November 3, 2007. Musharraf had rejected the charges levelled against him.
