ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said that his party will never support any action to derail democratic set-up in the country.
"Democratically elected government should complete its constitutional tenure," he said while talking to Pakistan Television (PTV).
He said that PPP would provide full support to the government for the continuity of democratic system in the country.
He said: "It was the first time in the history of Pakistan that previous government transferred the power to the next democratically elected government."
Opposition Leader said that PPP had also rendered unprecedented sacrifices for democracy.
Replying to a question, he said that Pakistan is facing a number of challenges, adding that all political parties should play role to resolve these issues for welfare of the people.
To another question, he said that PPP had supported Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government regarding dialogue process with Taliban.
To a question he said that police should perform the duties for maintaining peace in Karachi without any political pressure.
Khurshid Shah said that media should avoid conflict with each other.
