SINGAPORE: China's gold imports from main conduit Hong Kong fell to a 14-month low in April as a weaker yuan and local discounts curbed demand.
April net gold flows into China from Hong Kong fell to 67.040 tonnes from 85.128 tonnes in March, according to data e-mailed to Reuters by the Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department.
That is the lowest since February last year when net imports were at 60.958 tonnes. Total gold imports from Hong Kong slipped to 80.817 tonnes last month from 105.855 tonnes in March.
