HYDERABAD: People here celebrated Youm-e-Takbeer with national fervor and great enthusiasm. The day is observed every year on May 28 with great passion to remember the historic nuclear tests conducted by the country in 1998 in response to Indian explosions that made Pakistan the seventh nuclear nation of the world and first Islamic state equipped with nuclear arsenal.
President PML (N), District Hyderabad Haneef Siddiqui highlighting the achievements said nuclear detonations proved to the world that Pakistan was fully capable to defend its sovereignty and security.
Talking to APP here on Tuesday Haneef Siddiqui said the nation would always remember the services of the politicians, scientists and army officers who worked for materializing the dream of making Pakistan an atomic power.
He said the nation was proud of the services of hundreds of engineers and eminent scientists, who through their untiring efforts, made Pakistan's defense invincible.
Siddiqui said that May 28th has become a historic day for Pakistan and is called Youm-e-Takbeer.
It is on this day that the nation remembers its great achievement, he said.
Meanwhile, the Senior Vice President Parveen Qureshi , Joint Secretary PML (N) District Hyderabad ladies wing Zakia Javed Rizvi, Joint Secretary PML (N) District Latifabad Ms. Qamar Saqib, Dr. Saeeda, Lubna Mughal, Information secretary District Hyderabad Zahida Bhund and others underlined the need to continue nuclear programmes and said that nuclear weapons should not be destroyed at any cost.
While, PML-N leaders and workers of Hyderabad held several meetings at the districts level to pay tribute to the leader, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
Special prayers were also offered for the prosperity, integrity and solidarity of Pakistan.
