ISLAMABAD: Turkish Ambassador to Yemen Fazli Corman asserted on Sunday that his country has no interest in meddling in any other country's domestic affairs.
Turkey "would not benefit from interfering in any other country's internal affairs," the Turkish diplomat said during a meeting with Yemeni Parliament Speaker Yahya Ali al-Raei, Anadolu News Agency Reported.
Corman told al-Raei that Turkey "admires and appreciates Yemen's positive transition," the news agency reported.
Al-Raei, for his part, said that his country "harbors much respect and appreciation for the Turkish people and welcomes Turkish investors in Yemen."
Yemen has been dogged by turmoil since pro-democracy protests in 2011 forced autocratic president Ali Abdullah Saleh to step down after 33 years in power.
Last month, Taner Yildiz, Turkey's energy minister, asserted that his country seeks to explore for natural gas in Yemen and expressed readiness to help construct electricity power plants in the country.
