KARACHI: Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh President Shahi Syed has criticised Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri for inciting party workers to resort to violence against police personnel.
Talking to APP, he said that neither did Islam nor law or Constitution allow such irrational behaviour. No one had the right to take law in his own hands, as institutions were functioning in the country for the dispensation of justice, he added.
Shahi Syed stressed that the country needed unity and harmony, and if anyone had any grievances, he should take them up in the parliament, instead of agitation on streets.
The ANP leader said Pakistan could not afford any confrontation at that point of time. "Democracy brings development and prosperity and if anyone attempts to harm democracy it will be like harming Pakistan and its people."
