Brick_Kiln_SialkotSIALKOT: The peaceful strike of brick kiln owners entered into its sixth day on Wednesday, as more than 300 kilns across Sialkot district were closed due to which 60 percent of construction works have been badly affected.

Hundreds of labourers have been rendered jobless due to the prolonged strike of the kiln owners in a protest against the levy of 16 percent of General Sales Tax (GST).

Meanwhile, President Brick Kiln Owners’ Association, Sialkot District, Khawaja Zafar Iqbal, has termed the imposition of the GST as an injustice and has demanded its immediate abolition.

He said that thousands of kiln owners and labourers from Gujranwala Division would go on a long march in protest of the GST.
