imageMULTAN: Over 90,000 people were rescued from the flood hit areas but 19 have died so far in the district. Talking to APP here on Monday,Additional District Collector/focal person for flood Ali Annan Qamar said that floods had hit 135 villages and damaged standing crops on 70,000 acres across the district. He added that more than five lakh cattleheads were hit by the flood.

The official said that district government has set up 24 relief camps for flood-stricken people where in about 13000 people have been accommodated. He said that different facilities including food, clean water,fans,bedding and health care were being provided to them in the relief camps.

He said that fodder for animals was also available for the cattle at the camps sites. Ali Annan Qamar said that most of the people who were rescued from the flood hit areas went to their relatives while others were being facilitated by the district administration.
