LONDON: Differentials for West African crude oil were supported by demand from European refiners, and lower supply available for November exports.
The Forcados grade of crude oil was set to export around 176,000 barrels per day (bpd) in November compared with 225,000 in October, a shipping list indicated.
Exports for the benchmark Qua Iboe grade were also lower for November than October, while Angolan exports were set at 1.53 million barrels per day, the lowest since April.
Angolan offers are significantly higher for October than November, and the Nigerian Official Selling Price for Qua Iboe and Bonny Light October is at $1.10 for October compared to 77 cents in September.
However, some traders pointed to slow sales from October for Nigerian crude as indicating that differentials would not rise significantly.
Traders said that there were nearly 20 Nigerian cargoes still available for October loading, even as the bulk of the November programme came to market.
NIGERIA:
Forcados: 176,000 bpd will be exported on eight cargoes. The OSP for this grade was set at dated Brent plus $1.35.
Qua Iboe: There will be 11 cargoes exported in November according to a shipping list, lower than the usual 12 or 13. The most recent cargoes traded at around dated Brent plus $1.50.
Bonny Light: Will export around 191,000 bpd, a higher total than for recent months.
ANGOLA:
Some 13 cargoes of the 49 available had been bought via term contracts, traders said. Dalia November cargoes were offered at dated Brent minus $2.30, CLOV at minus $1.70, Hungo minus $1.60. These offers were at least $1 firmer than original offers for October vessels.
Angola will export 1.53 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil in November a provisional shipping list indicated, below the 1.7 million seen for October loading.
There was only one Girassol cargo due to load due to planned maintenance on the field, below the usual six. Production is expected to return to normal for December export, a trader said.
ASIAN TENDERS:
The results of an HPCL tender are expected on Tuesday, winners of a BPCL tender is expected on Thursday while a CPC tender result is expected by the end of next week, a trader said.
The results of a tender from Petrovietnam to buy Nigerian cargoes were expected on Friday, though traders had yet to see confirmation of the grades they had taken.
