TOKYO: Tokyo stocks closed down 0.24 percent Wednesday as jitters rippled through the market following US-led strikes in Syria and a slowdown in eurozone business activity.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 38.45 points to 16,167.45, while the Topix index of all first-section shares fell 0.35 percent, or 4.70 points, to 1,326.18.
