British comedian Russell Brand to star in an economic documentary ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’.
According to media reports, ‘The Emperor's New Clothes’ will be a political documentary about the social differences that led to the 2008 financial crisis in US and UK banking sector.
The filming of the documentary movie will held at various financial centers of London and New York. Movie will be a mixture of comedy, archive footage and interviews.
While discussing about the movie Filmmaker Michael Winterbottom said, “It’s about inequality and why the 1% seems to have so much and the rest of us not quite so much. Everyone knows about equality and what's going on in the world, so the idea is to point out the ludicrous extremes of our society,” media reported.
Previously, Brand and Winterbottom decided to make a movie on ‘My Booky Wook’ which has been written by Brand in 2007 but the project was abandoned and now they are working together on this new documentary movie.
Directed by Michael Winterbottom and produced by Revolution films. Movie has been scheduled to go on floor later this year.
