ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will visit Japan to explore new avenues of economic cooperation and seeking investment for projects in Pakistan.
The Finance Minister discussed matters pertaining to such cooperation with the Japanese Ambassador, Hiroshi Inomata at a meeting here on Wednesday.
They also had discussion on holding an Investment Conference under the aegis of the Board of Investment.
During the meeting, the Ambassador, on behalf of the Government of Japan, extended invitation to the Finance Minister to visit Japan at a mutually convenient date.
The Minister accepting the invitation said it would be an honour for him to visit Japan.
The visit would afford him an opportunity to discuss with the Japanese leadership, areas of cooperation with focus on economic collaboration.
He said Japan has always been in the forefront to extend economic assistance and technical know how to Pakistan and had invested in a number of projects. "I would look for ways and means to take this exemplary relationship to greater heights during this visit", the Finance Minister added.
Ambassador, Hiroshi Inomata thanked the Minister for accepting the invitation to visit Japan and hoped it would facilitate useful interaction between leaders and experts from the two sides for enhancement of economic cooperation.
