Lions Gate entertainment has announced that Best-selling trilogy and blockbuster film franchise ‘The Hunger Games’ will be adapted into a live stage show in London Wembley stadium.
According to foreign media reports, Lions Gate films and Dutch Media Company Imagine Nation announced that ‘The Hunger Games’ will be adapted into a theatrical play. Launching in 2016, the stage adaptation will premiere in a brand new, London-based theater built specifically for ‘The Hunger Games’ storytelling demands.
Reportedly, Broadway producer De Levita said, “The theatre is a fantastic medium to bring the many meaningful layers of Suzanne Collins' writing to life”.
Tim Phelan, chief marketing officer for Lions Gate said, “The team behind the stage adaptation would provide a uniquely immersive experience for fans around the world”, media reported
Lions Gate is following the footsteps of Disney, which has brought franchises including ‘The Lion King’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Tarzan’, ‘The Little Mermaid’, ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ and ‘Aladdin’ to the stage.
The next installment of the most anticipated movie ‘The Hunger Games’ starrering Jennifer Lawrence along with Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Julianne Moore will hit theatres worldwide on November 21.
