Actress turned singer Priyanka Chopra has lent her voice to a song sung by late singer John Lenon ‘Imagine’ for ‘United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund’ (UNICEF) social video.
Reportedly, UNICEF invites aspiring pop stars Hugh Jackman, Katy Perry, Angélique Kidjo, Priyanka Chopra, Yoko Ono and David Guetta to sing John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ and helps raise awareness of children’s rights. The ‘Imagine’ video is a global campaign by ‘UNICEF’ to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
‘UNICEF’ believed this campaign is the biggest ever global campaign which has been launched this week with a live performance of the song at the United Nations General Assembly, by all 250 national, regional, and global ‘UNICEF’ Goodwill Ambassadors.
Priyanka Chopra took to Twitter to make an announcement and share her happiness at being part of social campaign. She tweeted, “So freaking cool to be a part of this video! Singing with John Lennon! Who would have thought! Yeah! Thank you”.
Previously, the pop star has also crooned with International singers for her single, ‘In My City’ and ‘Exotic’ featuring Pitbull.
