ISLAMABAD: Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi Saturday condemned the assassination of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Secretary General Sindh and former Senator Dr. Khalid Mehmood Soomro.
In a statement issued here, they termed Dr Soomro's murder an act of terrorism and an attempt to disrupt the peace in the country.
In their separate condolence messages to his family, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker expressed their grief over his death.
They prayed to the Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.
They said Dr Soomro was a statesman, who rendered valuable contributions in legislative business during his tenure as Senator.
