ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Monday expressed the confidence that government would fully focus on resolving real issues being faced by the country as "Engineered issues will be no more in 2015."
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, would be focussing on `real issues' like terrorism, energy and national economy as `engineered' issues would die down next year, the Minister said during his visit to a private TV channel in connection with its sixth anniversary.
Unfortunately, he said, the government had to spend its energy in tackling issues created by a political party for personal and unconstitutional demands.
The government succeeded due to its principled stand and those who were following the illogical and unprincipled stance faced failure, the Minister added.
In 2014, Pervaiz Rashid said, the government effectively handled terrorism, took good initiatives to resolve energy crisis and improve the national economy.
Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies successfully wiped out terrorist elements from North Waziristan Agency, which was being acknowledged by the nation as well as the international community.
On the energy front, the Minister said, Chinese investment amounting to $ 40 billion was pouring in to meet the growing energy demand in the country, hoping that electricity situation would further improve in the coming days.
Besides, due to prudent economic policies the national economy has been taken out of swamp and now it was on consistent path of progress, which was reflective from the fact that Pakistani currency got strength as compared to the US dollar. "Dollar depreciated from Rs 114 to Rs 98 as result of the economic policies of the government," he added.
Earlier, the Minister cut the cake and congratulated the TV channel administration for airing productive, mature and informative current affairs programmes and providing national as well as international news to its viewers in a highly professional manner.
The administration also presented a souvenir to Pervaiz Rashid on the occasion.
