The US Navy has revoked American comedian Bill Cosby honorary title in the light of allegations on him. Recently, Cosby has been accused by more than 15 women in recent weeks of sexual misconduct ranging from incidents of groping to incidents of drugging and raping.
According to media reports Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Master Chief Petty Officer Michael Stevens said in a statement, “The Navy is taking this action because allegations against Mr. Cosby are very serious and are in conflict with the Navy's core values of honor, courage and commitment”.
In 1956, Cosby enlisted in the US Navy and he served four years as a hospital corpsman before being honorably discharged in 1960 as a 3rd Class Petty Officer. The honorary title was presented to Cosby in 2011, although the press release about that on the Navy's websites has since disappeared.
Still Cosby has refused to answer question about allegation that he sexually abused several women including former super model Janice Dickinson. Recently, Cosby has resigned from the board of trustees of Temple University in Philadelphia. Some of Broadcasters including NBC and Netflix have shelved many projects with Bill Cosby.
