MANSEHRA: Qaumi Watan Party chief Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao said on Sunday that no one could force an elected government to quit while leading a few followers.
Addressing a QWP workers convention here, Sherpao said Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan had failed to provide any documentary evidence of rigging in 2013 general election both at the Supreme Court and election tribunals.
He said if the federal government constituted a judicial commission to investigate the election rigging charges, Imran Khan would show his no-confidence in it as he had no evidence to prove his case.
The QWP chief said the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which was being controlled through a remote device from Banni Gala, had failed to protect the life and property of the people of province from target killers, kidnappers and extortionists.
The PTI government, he said, was even exploiting the miseries of internally displaced persons (IDPs), who had to leave their homes in tribal areas for peace in the country. They deserved appreciation as they had rendered sacrifices for the country, he added.
The Chinese and Qatri leaders had to cancel their visits to Pakistan due to the the PTI's sit-in in Islamabad, which was a great set-back for the national economy, he added.
Criticizing the KPK government, Aftab Sherpao said due to its bad governance, 80 percent developmental funds had lapsed. Only 20 percent funds were spent, those too in the constituencies of Siraj-ul-Haq and Pervez Khattak, he added.
He said majority of the polio cases in the country were surfacing in the KPK, but the PTI chief and his party's government had totally ignored the issue.
The QWP chief said Imran Khan claimed to plant one billion trees in the province. Though trees had been planted at a few places, which, however, did not match his claim, he added.
He said the province and its people were suffering for the wrong policies of PTI government and its politics of agitation.
Sherpao said instead of resolving problems of the KPK people and removing the miseries of IDPs, the PTI was continuing its politics of sit-ins and protests. The party instead of managing the affairs of KPK, was dreaimg to take control of the Punjab province, he added.
