Singer Iggy Azalea and pop star Jessie J have been named to the list of honorees at the upcoming ‘Billboard Music Awards’.
According to media reports, the ‘Fancy’ hitmaker Iggy Azalea will receive the ‘Chart-Topper Award’, while the British star Jessie J will be feted with the ‘Powerhouse Award’. Newcomer Charli Xcx has also landed on the list of honours and will be handed the ‘Hitmaker Award’.
Iggy Azalea became music’s first white female rap star, she surpassed Lil Kim as the woman rap artist with the longest-leading single in chart history. The singer has stayed at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with ‘Fancy’ for seven consecutive weeks.
Azalea was recently honoured for the ‘Best Rap/Hip-Hop Album’ for 'The New Classic' at American Music Awards 2014 and has defeated veterans Eminem and Drake. She’s also been nominated in four Grammy Awards categories for this year.
The awards ceremony will be held in New York City on December 12.
