ISLAMABAD: Vice President Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Tuesday that his party would present to newly appointed Chief Election Commissioner its proposals in writing for reformation of electoral system in the country.
Talking to media persons after leading a PTI delegation during a meeting with CEC Justice (Retd) Sardar Raza Khan here at his office, he said that Election Reforms Committee was working but as PTI MNAs had tendered their resignations they were not taking part in its meetings.
He said due to this situation the PTI proposed that it would give its proposals for reformation of the electoral system.
He said that the PTI delegation conveyed to the new CEC the party concerns and reservations about the previous elections.
He said that ECP has published a report about the 2013 general elections in which it had mentioned some irregularities and there was a need to make improvement in light of that report.
The PTI Vice President said that being the consensus Chief Election Commissioner, there were high hopes attached with him and hopefully he would come up to the expectations of the nation.
He said that PTI's struggle was aimed at improving the electoral system of the country and several steps were proposed to the CEC to make the system more transparent.
He said that forms 14 and 16 should be uploaded on the website of the Election Commission of Pakistan so that all could get required details about any constituency.
