ISLAMABAD: Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird said that Canada welcomed the expanded engagement between Pakistan and India.
According to a press release issued by Canadian embassy here on Thursday he welcomed resumption of dialogue between the foreign ministers of the two-country in New Delhi on July 27.
He said, "we regard as a positive step the decisions to increase trade and the movement of people across the Line of Control in Kashmir and to develop new confidence-building measures aimed at reducing tensions in the region".
Canada is also encouraged by the agreement to pursue dialogue at the ministerial level in 2012 in Islamabad, it added.
