Two-time Oscar-winning actress Jodie Foster will receive the Laura Ziskin Lifetime Achievement Award at the fifth annual Athena Film Festival on February 7.
According to media reports Jodie Foster said, “It is truly an honor to receive the Laura Ziskin Lifetime Achievement Award at the Athena Film Festival, which celebrates the power, creativity, and leadership of women in the entertainment industry”.
“These are values I share deeply with the festival and I am thrilled to be recognized amongst my colleagues and peers”, Jodie Foster added.
Jodie Foster has appeared in over 40 films, ‘Taxi Driver’,’ The Silence of the Lambs’ and ‘The Accused’ having won the Best Actress Academy Award for her performances. She has also taken to working behind the camera as well, directing three features and multiple episodes of ‘House of Cards’ and ‘Orange is the New Black’. Reportedly, Jodie Foster is about to enter into production on her fourth feature film as a director, ‘Money Monster’ which stars George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Jack O'Connell.
Previous recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award include Sherry Lansing and Gale Anne Hurd. ‘The Accused' actress becomes the third recipient of the honour.
