ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Wednesday paid rich tributes to deceased MNA Rai Mansab Ali Khan and said the services of the deceased would be remembered for long.
Speaking on point of order after the sad news of the death of the MNA from NA 137 Nankana Sahib III, the Parliamentarians said the deceased was one of the senior most parliamentarians of the House.
Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi eulogised the services of the deceased and lauded his political and literary contributions.
Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain said Rai Mansab was a senior parliamentarian and remained the member of parliament since 1962. Perhaps, he was among one of the oldest Member of Parliament.
Abdul Sattar Bachani of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian said the deceased was a seasoned parliamentarian and a kind human being.
Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Chaudhary Muhammad Barjees Tahir said the deceased was elected from West Pakistan Assembly in 1962. He used to write columns in news papers. He was an asset for the country.
Raja Javed Ikhlas of PML-N said the deceased was a true leader and the whole House is dejected on his death.
Sahibzada Tariqullah of Jamiat-e-Islami, Asif Hasnain of Mutahidda Quomi Movement (MQM), Maulana Ameer Zaman of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl, Shazia Ashfaq paid tributes to the deceased and said they are with the family of the deceased.
