BEIJING: Three people -- including one police officer -- were killed Sunday in an explosion that rocked the city of Kashgar in China's restive Xinjiang region, state media said.
The official Xinhua news agency said three others were injured in the blast in the city -- already rocked by a violent attack earlier this weekend that saw seven die when knife-wielding assailants attacked a crowd of people.
Police have already detained two suspects allegedly involved in Sunday's blast, the report said, adding fire-fighters, police and ambulances were rushing to the scene.
