Pakistan Railways to start courier service soon
ISLAMABAD: General Manager Railways Saeed Akhtar on Friday said that Pakistan Railways has decided to start courier services in different cities of the country soon.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that it will be started with in a week and for this purpose advertisement will be published in newspaper.
Pakistan railways sub-Institution Pakistan railways advisory and consultancy services will take up this project, he added.
He said, in first phase this service will be provided from Lahore to Rawalpindi and railways officials are taking these steps to cope with the current financial situation of the railways.
GM Railway said that it will be first time in history that Pakistan Railways starting its own courier services and these services will be much cheaper than other private courier services.
He hoped that the project would be successful. Later on it will be extended from Lahore to Karachi.
