PML-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain SayedLAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed said that Pakistan came into being because of the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Addressing the first Pakistan Paindabad lecture on "Quaid's Struggle for achievement of Pakistan" here at Aiwan-e-Karkunan

Pakistan on Saturday, he said Quaid made history by creating a country for Muslims of the subcontinent.

He said that a public leader had some qualities and drawbacks but the Father of the Nation Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a great personality with countless abilities.

Mushahid said that Qauid's personal stance was never different from that of the public, adding he never believed in double standards.

He said that Quaid was the only leader who worked without the role of the establishment and achieved his goal by gaining public trust and with belief.

He said the founder of Pakistan opposed those things which were against public interest, like Rowlatt Act, and as a protest he had resigned from the Imperial Legislative Council.

He said that Quaid always defended human rights, adding that people in Pakistan were not narrow-minded as they could openly laud anybody like Nehru but the situation in India was different where Advani of the BJP bore the brunt of praising Quaid-i-Azam's personality.

He said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah mobilized women and made it clear that women's role was very important in a separate homeland by bringing his sister Fatima Jinnah from dentistry to the struggle for the creation of Pakistan.

He also believed in promoting youths and media which he knew were essential for the struggle of Muslims for achieving their goal.

He said that for the first time higher judiciary of the country was not part of the establishment and working independently adding that civil society was also playing its role with full strength.

He said, "Our geo-political situation is improving and Pakistan's relations with other countries are getting better and the balance of power was now moving from west to Asia.

In his presidential address, Nazria Pakistan Trust Chairman Majid Nazami said that Fatima Jinnah should be a role model of every girl of Pakistan, adding we have to work hard for the development and well-being of the country.

He said there was no need of getting dictation from America. He criticized India for conspiring against Pakistan.

He lauded the family of Mushahid Hussain for its role in the Pakistan Movement.

Dr Rafique Ahmad and others also spoke on the occasion.
