Preparations in full swing to mark 64th Independence Day on August 14
LAHORE: Preparations to mark the 64th Independence Day of Pakistan in a befitting manner on August 14 are in full swing in the provincial capital.
Printers and makers of buntings, flags, banners and badges are fully engaged in their business. They are also making arrangements to dispatch these items to other areas of the country to meet demand of people.
The most enthusiastic are children who are busy collecting stickers, badges and also beautifying their bicycles with special stickers inscribed with messages of Independence Day.
Social, literary, religious and sports organisations will also arrange seminars, speeches, games and other activities on the day.
The city district government has also expedited activities for the repair of streetlights.
The Punjab Auqaf Department has already announced a four-day programme for Independence Day.
