Australian coach Dareen Lehmann has confirmed that Clark is not playing in the first match of World Cup on Saturday. Clark has showed good momentum against UAE where he score 64 runs and bowled 2 over’s.
According to media reports, Lehmann also said Clark will remain on board for Australia’s second game against Bangladesh on February 21. “We had a chat, we're making sure he's 100 percent ready to go. We're really comfortable with the decision”. Said Lehmaan
Australian Captain is facing injuries from last couple of month and had surgery on his right hamstring after being forced out of the India’s Test series following the first match. He had back and hamstring issues for much of his career.
Meanwhile England Captain Morgan said that absence of Clarke will make a bit difference but we will play our best for good start.
Australia will meet England on the opening match of World Cup on February 14, 2015.
