New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson played a superb round against Sri Lanka in World Cup opening match on Saturday. Corey Anderson has been awarded ‘Man of the match’ in front of home crowd which includes his family and friends.
“It's nice to come back home and play in front of family and friends. I guess this World Cup is the stuff we dream of,” Anderson said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
Corey scored 75 runs on just 46 delivers and also took 2 wickets in just 3.1 over’s.Anderson admitted that he was bit nervous while going for bat in middle order. He said, “There were more nerves than normal, but that is pretty cliché isn't it? You always want to do well for New Zealand. I always have a different plan when I go out to bat, and it turns out differently in the middle. We just wanted to turn that par total into a winning total,” media reported.
