ZURICH: Swiss stocks slid 1.05 percent in opening trade Monday before swiftly returning to positive territory, with bank stocks leading the recovery.
At 9:09 am (0709 GMT), the Swiss Market Index was up 0.19 percent at 5,182.04 points, helped by a 3.53 percent rise in Credit Suisse shares to 24.65 francs and the 2.81 percent gain in UBS shares to 11.33 francs.
Meanwhile, the Swiss franc scaled new highs against the dollar to change hands at 0.755 to the dollar.
