KARACHI: Former president and Co-Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Asif Ali Zardari and leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Altaf Hussain discussed Senate elections, country's political situation and other matters of mutual interests over the phone, a statement of MQM said here on Monday.
Talking on the occasion, Asif Ali Zardari said that the current situation of Pakistan called for enhanced political reconciliation and unity among the people. He said that PPP and MQM had a good past record of reconciliatory politics.
MQM chief endorsed the views of PPP Co-chairman saying that Pakistan is for all and the political parties' mandates should be acknowledged. He said that the people who had merit should also be given chance to rule or serve the people.
He said that the differences were the beauty of politics but it was needed to recognise each other's rights and responsibilities.
